This piece is very special to me. Last year, right before Thanksgiving, I was about to bake my dads famous pumpkin pies when all of a sudden the grief of losing him a few years ago took over. I stopped everything I was doing and told myself to go paint and release the pain. When I did, this is the piece that came out. 
 
My grief hits me like a wave and is clyclical. Eventually it fades away for a bit and releases. It will always return, but always fades.
